ALMA at Pittcon 2009

This workshop will discuss current management issues that are evolving the laboratory into the laboratory of the future. With the issues of globalization, demographics and economic pressures new approaches to manage resources and lead people are required. The workshop is organized by Association of Lab Managers Association, the learning organization for laboratory management.

The cutting-edge laboratories have always kept pace with the introduction of new technologies, but in today's world additional drivers must be considered when deciding the future direction of the laboratory. The Laboratory manager must balance technology, personnel and business needs with the pressures of globalization, demographics and economic pressures. This workshop will present a series of presentations that explore various management techniques to address these pressures.

This workshop is organized by Association of Lab Managers (ALMA), the learning organization for laboratory management. ALMA's unique strength lies in providing a forum for lab managers to interact with other managers who have similar problems and who are willing to share solutions and ideas that have worked in their laboratories.
